The Apple Macintosh II was released in 1987 as a higher-end version of the existing compact Macintosh models. On release, even a basic model cost $5,498. It was the first Mac to support colour graphics, although the museum's machine has a 20" "two page" monochrome monitor which was designed for publishing work. |
