The items I'm donating belonged to a loved one who has passed away, can you put their name on the exhibits?

Yes and no.

We'll store your name against all the donations in our database so we know where the donations have come from, but we do not display this information publically at the moment.

We don't put plaques or anything like that on the actual physical exhibits themselves, just because quite a lot of our items come from people who have passed away and their family is clearing out their house, so if we put plaques or dedications on all the exhibits the museum may end up looking like a morgue which wouldn't be suitable as we have children and school trips visiting the museum.

We have applied plaques in some very special circumstances, such as when the donor died very young or there were very special circumstances, but we do not do this otherwise.

Thank you for understanding.
