Horizons Sixth Form is a sixth form for students with special or additional learning needs and are based a few doors down the road from the museum on Iron Gate.
They help the museum with asset tagging all the exhibits, decorating the museum, organising field trips for primary and secondary schools and much more besides.
We're a charity and entirely volunteer run. Many of our volunteers multi-task and do several different roles but our rough specialisms are below. To find out more about volunteering, see our volunteer page.
Volunteers - Electrical repair & DIY
These volunteers perform electrical repair of exhibits, DIY tasks, and other duties like PAT testing.
Volunteers - PC & network admin
These volunteers work with Rob to manage our IBM compatible PCs and our Netware and Windows networks.
Volunteers - Marketing & PR
We wouldn't be much of a museum without visitors! These volunteers are responsible for getting the word out :)
Volunteers - Music technology
These volunteers look after our music in technology area such as our Atari ST "mini music studio" and our Yamaha CX5M.
Volunteers - Video production
We produce videos for our YouTube channel and to show in the museum. These volunteers produce these videos.
Volunteers - General
In addition to the volunteers above with specific roles, we have plenty of volunteers who help out behind the scenes and on our public open days. We need more though, please see our volunteer page.
Last but by absolutely no means least, dotting the i's and crossing the t's from a financial point of view is our treasurer.
